Day 2 - Feeling Good

It's Day 2 of the Isabody Challenge and I weighed in at 167.8 this morning, yet another low for me! Anthony and I went to the gym last night and had a great work out. It felt great to get back in the groove of things, especially since we really slacked with working out over the holiday weeks we had off. I must say though that I am very proud of us that we did not gain but a pound each over the holiday and just days after we can back we each dropped weight as well.

I have been very good about my eating as well and will continue do to so while on the Challenge. I have found a new place in my heart for Subway. It is convenient and just the right amount of calories for a lunch that fills me up with out feeling guilty. I happen to be a huge fan of the oven roasted chicken breast on wheat with sweat onion dressing....YUMMY!

Unfortunately, Anthony is very sick, so the gym is out for this evening, though I'll probably hop on the stationary bike we have at home just to get in 20 minutes of cardio.

Day 1 - IsaBody Challege

Today marks the first day of the Isabody Challenge which is a weight loss competition through Isagenix. It runs from January 2nd to the end of June and is open to individuals as well as couples. Anthony and I have signed up in the couples category and hope to be top contenders. We have recommitted to staying on a strict Isagenix diet as well as a 7 day a week exercise program. Not to mention there's a cash prize! If nothing else the competition will keep us very focused on the diet. This morning I weighed in at 168.4lbs :) This is the lowest weight I've been in who knows how long!

Isagenix suggests 20 minutes of exercise daily, but since I am used to a good hour long workout I am going to stick to my regime. It's great because recently Anthony and I joined Moutainside Fitness near the house. It is a beautiful facility with all new machinery and a plethera of classes I hope to try out soon as well!

I have including some of my pictures that were sent in with my application to the competion. I will update them periodically so you can all see my progress!

Welcome to my Weight Loss Diary!

Hello to all my family, friends and those of you who are meeting me for the first time! My name is Mindi and for the first time I am putting my personal struggle with weight loss into words. Those of you who have known me for years know I’ve struggled with weight for most of my life. I hope to be an inspiration to anyone and everyone looking for a positive life change and to offer words of encouragement to others in my shoes.

As of today I am 25 years old, born October 9th 1983. I stand at 5’6” and weighed in at 168.2lbs this morning (January 6th, 2009). It was just over a year ago that I topped the scales at 215lbs. I could hardly believe my eyes…never had I imagined that I would weigh over 200lbs, but to my dismay I did. I was unhappy with myself and life but I realized that at that moment I could no longer continue to live my life overweight.

But let’s back track…over the years I was overweight I had many efforts to diet. I bought every diet pill that caught my eye (I even got a GNC membership to get discounts on the pills). For me diet pills were a quick fix for my mentality. They tricked me into thinking that I was doing something healthy but all I did was pollute my body with garbage. The pills would curb my appetite so much that I wouldn’t eat, but as soon as I’d stop taking them I gorge myself. I would join a gym and never go or I’d start a new diet fad, which would only last a few weeks at best. At one point I lost 20lbs, only to find myself gaining it all back due to stress (or whatever excuse I came up with for the time being). In the long run it was easier for me to ignore that I had a problem than try to fix it.

This all changed when I met Anthony and heard his inspirational story about weight loss. As many of you know Anthony is my boyfriend and the most supportive partner anyone could ever ask for. It was he who introduced me to the Isagenix Weight Loss System and showed me the true way to success on my weight loss journey. I can even recall the first time he ever made me a vanilla shake for breakfast… I was instantly hooked. I had never tasted such a delicious protein shake before (and I had tried them all). Before I knew it I was signed up for Isagenix and well on my weight loss journey.

I started Isagenix in July 2008 and in less than 6 months I have lost 46.8lbs! I feel great and look great and am still on my weight loss path. My ultimate goal is to be between 135 and 140lbs with good muscle tone!

I will update my blog as frequently as possible to let you know of my progress ☺! I hope to inspire those of you that are looking to start on a fantastic weight loss journey as well!

I've included some pictures of me from July 13th 2008, August 2008, and December 10th 2008 so you can all see the progress I have made since being on Isagenix :)
